Megan B. Jamerson is a visual journalist and audio story teller. She currently is a contributor on The Method, NPR member station WUOT’s science and technology show. Her most recent work and reel can be found on her home page.
Megan got her start in journalism as a sound engineer and reporter for Laguna Beach’s KX 93.5FM. In 2015, an audio feature she produced on drone use in New York City won a Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence award. She then made the transition to video as an intern at Star Fish Media Group assisting with the production of network documentaries.
Megan has covered social issues like women filmmakers overcoming the odds in independent film, high unemployment among minorities in New Orleans and men aging with AIDS in New York.
Megan holds an M.A. in Multimedia Journalism from NYU’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California Los Angeles. She is based in Knoxville, TN.
